Iranian songs on the iTunes Store

There are a lot of music players in the market that you can use in order to listen to music such as Windows Media Player, Winamp and JetAudio. But if you’re familiar with the Apple or you have one or more Apple products including iPod, iPhone, iPad and …, you can’t begin to use any other media player applications except the iTunes. These days iTunes becomes very popular and nearly all people I know believe that the iTunes is the most powerful and popular media player in the world. iTunes includes a store section that enables users to download music, movies, and even applications for their Apple products.

iTunes Store

The iTunes Store is a software-based online digital media store operated by Apple. Opening as the iTunes Music Store on April 28, 2003, with over 200,000 items to purchase, it is, as of April 2008, the number-one music vendor in the United States. On 24 February 2010, the store served its 10 billionth song download; this major milestone being reached in just under seven years of being online. iTunes accounts for 70% of worldwide online digital music sales, making the service the largest legal music retailer. While most downloaded files have previously included restrictions on their use, enforced by FairPlay, Apple's implementation of digital rights management, iTunes initiated a shift into selling DRM-free music in most countries, marketed as iTunes Plus. On January 6, 2009, Apple announced that DRM had been removed from 80% of the entire music catalog in the US. Full iTunes Plus availability was achieved on April 7, 2009 in the US, coinciding with the introduction of a three-tiered pricing model.

The following photo is the iTunes Store’s first page. You can click the picture for a full-size view:

iTunes is now the #1 music retailer in the world. – Steve Jobs

There’s bunch of cool features that you can use in order to download and your favorite music/movie/application but this is not what I’m going to talk about.

Companies like Apple has boycotted Iran from their products and services so you can’t download any kind of files from iTunes Store if your IP address is in Iran.

A couple of days ago, I was searching throw the iTunes store and searched for the word “Hichkas” and I shocked after I saw the result:

iTunesStore

The results contain latest released by Hichkas and if you take a look at the other items in the result window, you can see some other Iranian albums which are all available to download right from the iTunes store!

Conclusion

Now you can download every kind of media you want right from the iTunes Store and as you know, it’s not too expansive. I’m sure that most of you can afford it.

By the way, this is very good news for Iranian music providers to put their releases to the iTunes Store so everyone in the world can download and listen to them; and it’s very surprising that the iTunes Store is not limited to music! You can download/rent movies, podcasts, etc.

Hope it helps.

Apple iPad in Iran!!!???

By Mohammad Mahdi Ramezanpour at April 06, 2010 08:09

It’s only 3 days that Apple released the iPad and about 1,000,000 people around the world have bought it.

Apple iPad

The iPad is a tablet computer developed by Apple Inc. Announced on January 27, 2010; it is part of a category between a smartphone and a laptop computer.

After 3 days, Iranian local TV reported that a company had imported the iPad to the Iran and they’ve sold about 3,000 iPads to now!!! It’s outstanding. I don’t know about the price yet but I’m going to go to Paytakht in order to get some information about it.

If you live in Iran, you can buy the Apple’s iPad if you want.

UPDATE: According to one of my friends, iPad's price in Iran is about $1200!!! I can't believe that! WTH?

Hope it helps.

Most of programmers CANNOT sleep on time

FUNNY! A computer addict. If you’re a programmer, I think you should agree with it. Most of programmers are used to sleep late and wake up soon because they’re busy with a machine named computer. Programmers are part of society who isn’t good sleepers and I think it’s totally because they’re in touch with computers. So the main question is why the computer is so addictive.

An anonymous user just asked a question:

Q: Why Is The Computer Or Internet So Addictive?

A: That is a very good question. Computer and Internet are the inventions of the modern age. They hold every kind of information and data you need to know. Mostly it helps you to do school projects and homeworks. People prefer it because it is fast and efficient. Nowadays no one would like to visit the library with heavy books and a lot of searching when you can just do all that with a click of a button while relaxing in your arm chair. You can play different games on computer and talk to anyone in the world at any time of the day. Personnel stuff or official, you can do all that in the computer with fast access to everything. While you use the computer the whole world is at your fingertips every kind of stuff. In one sentence people of every time and age preferred quick job with no or little hard work and especially the young generation, so why would they go to the library (even it is important for you as books are your best-friends) while you can do it all easily at your cosy homes. So dear friend these are the basic reasons for the addiction of Internet and computer at the present time!

Another answer which was so interesting is this:

Video Game Addiction A: Because growing has no space in it any more. No time when nothing is placed into the mind, so kids can just kind of dream or imagine. Even reading books, you got to fill in the spaces. Now the "writers" from everywhere--Disney, the Simpson's, etc., All offering fascinating, funny and often very original stuff, take up all the empty space. Most school programs offer very little in the arts of music for free, having decided these things are not essential--despite an astounding amount of evidence demonstrating that studying music enhances one's desire and understanding of math. And writing one's own poetry, or hikes, or anything creative, would create a greater desire to care about what you're "supposed to" read. In a conference on "Men and the Life of Desire," 1991, available on audiotape, Michael Meade, Robert Bly and James Hillman discussed the repression of desire in our society. Men are not encouraged. It makes them less controllable, and let's face it. SOMEONE wants us more controlled. We need to rehabilitate imagination. Then the computer would be less addictive, and so would TV and other media. I think it requires a connection to nature at a young age. Take 'em to the hills; let the kids make something, even badly, and feel good about it. Praise them for what they do with their minds and hearts and hands. Help addict them to their own creativity. It's not hopeless.

computer-cartoon-freak-copyright8 Like other kinds of people, programmers can’t live without computer. Most of them spend about 12 hours a day working with it and prefer to spend their time with their machines and nothing more. They’re addicted like no one else and can’t quit because they’re doing businesses with it too.

Nearly all programmers prefer to work with computer in silence. They don’t like noise!

Warning: If you have a programmer wife/husband, please DONOT become involved with them when they’re working! Because they’ll get all bent out of the shape and you can’t control the situation :D

So the best way to achieve silence is to work at night (especially with everyone in the house slept).

But, is this the way to live?

Never ever!!! After some time of working with computer at night (12 AM – 6 AM) you can’t manage your sleep time anymore and most of your friends and especially family can’t stand you. After sometime, you’ll lose your mood and sociality! The best way to be a good programmer is to go to sleep at last at 1AM and wake up at 7AM and that’s it.

Conclusion

If you want to be good man of your life, it’s better to manage your sleep time. It’s never good when you sleep when others are awake or being impatient, sleepy and more. Quit this addiction a start a new life as soon as possible. If you don’t, you’ll lose your life after some time. I know people who’re got divorced just because they were addicted to the computer. Trust me if you’re a man: “No woman can stand men who’re working at home. They want you to spent time with them instead of computer! Some of them are jealous of your relationship with you and your machine.” I’m sure about it.

What are we doing!?

People are strange - Photo taken from: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zp6YgZPHXOI/R6IaFWs9DbI/AAAAAAAACEA/RPnrCGb4SV0/s400/PaulSignacPortraitOfFelixFeneon1890MuseumOfModernArt.jpg I know that my blog is a technical blog and most of its articles are related to technical concepts; but I need to post this blog to get things out of my chest. This blog is about something that most people may have experienced it. The title of this post is “What are we doing!?” Yeah! Really! What?

Few days ago, I was talking to my father about things that recently happened in my life. My father told me a story about the past, actually about previous generation people in Iran. He described that previous people were kinder than people in the current generation.

“When we were experiencing the war in Iran, most people was helping each other. For example, they give foods to each other and so on.” said my father. “Marriage average age was 20 and everybody lives with less commotion. But these days, you cannot find anyone who doesn’t have commotions!” described my father.

In fact, that’s correct! In today’s life, most people are thinking to themselves more than before and they don’t give a damn about the others. People are not as kind as before because of their problems. Because they’re anxious about things that they don’t know but it’s going to happen. As my father said, Today’s livings are so difficult than before and because, these people have no time to think to the others. They don’t have time to spend with their families, with their friends!

Here’s a question that can be asked:

Why every one of us tries to learn more, earn more and improve more?

It’s obvious, because we want to have a better life. We want to make everybody in our life happy! It’s true that nowadays we earn more than before but, do we have better life than before? I believe no.

Of course, this type of living has effected people’s other actions. For example, in Iran, today’s relationships between boys and girls are not good at all. They only want to find a friend with lots of money. “If you got a car, you’re the best.” It’s what they think :-(

As a matter of fact, this can be a quote:

“The more money you have, the more people love you”

Steve Jobs also said something about money which is interesting:

“They should know that money is not everything”

All in all, I think, it’s better to think more to the actions that we’re doing. Let’s think about more important stuff such as family, health, friendship. I know that no one can live without money, but I believe that no one can live with lots of money too.

Now I’m feeling safer

It’s very important for everyone to get protected against viruses, spywares, etc. especially for those who’re using the internet as a frequently and those who’re using Microsoft Windows™.

These days Microsoft is working a lot on security. It released Windows Defender in windows update and since Windows Vista released, Windows Defender is a part of Windows. It’s releasing monthly security updated to keep its users protected. But as a matter of fact, you’re never protected without a reliable antivirus software. For this, Microsoft released Windows Live OneCare; but as I checked out Top 10 antivirus software ranking, you cannot see it! You cannot see Norton Antivirus, MacAfee Antivirus and Panda Antivirus either!

My BitDefender Internet Security - Photo taken by myself If you check the ranking out, you’ll realize that BitDefender Antivirus is in the first place, Kaspersky Antivirus is in second, Webroot Antivirus is in third! After I checked this out, I said to myself “OK Mohammad, Lets be honest, I need an antivirus software. I have to choose because my AVG is going to expire this week. So what I have to do? I NEED A BITDEFENDER!!!

I’ve bought it!!! and now I’m feeling safer and because I’m using the internet a lot, preferred to buy BitDefender Internet Security 2009 as you can see!

If you’re really want to choose an antivirus or internet security software you need to choose BitDefender because:

  • It’s not expensive: only $39.95 for 3 PCs and 1 year of subscription!
  • It won’t slow down your computer.
  • It will scan your PC, emails, encrypts your IM conversations
  • It has a new File Vault that securely stores your personal information (Outstanding feature)
  • It scans your computer very face (It scans my 320Gb hard drive in less than 40 minutes)
  • It has a new family network protection.
  • It has a very useful game mode protection that enables you to play games like when you haven’t an antivirus.
  • And it has 24/7 free support.

For the last part, please check out one of its user’s reviews:

For those seeking the best antivirus software for the money AND an “install and forget” proposition, BitDefender is the right choice earning the “TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award.” Not only does it protect your computer and files, but BitDefender is easy to use, light on your computer and, maybe most importantly, light on your pocketbook.

No matter how technically capable any piece of software may be, the productivity enhancement it offers is only effective if people use it. This is especially true in antivirus software. The primary reasons people fail to protect their computers from a variety of malware are the cost and the 'burden' of installing and maintaining antivirus software. The best protection in the world is worthless if people find it cumbersome and distracting to use.

The same holds true for price. This is the beauty of BitDefender: It provides comprehensive protection, takes up little space on your computer, costs less and requires little maintenance. If you're a gamer you should consider the special GameSafe edition of BitDefender Antivirus.
